Learning from the Israeli Healthcare Model

September 7, 2022

Despite the impressively dynamic development of the West Region, one sector that is still underperforming (just everywhere else in Romania) is healthcare. As the cooperation with the Israeli delegation is already underway, the West Region is aiming to transpose more good practices onto the local scene.

To pave the way, an official delegation from the Sheba Medical Centre met with regional health sector stakeholders (both public and private), under the coordination of the West Regional Development Agency. After an initial talk at the Atlas Hotel, the delegation visited the Timiș County Hospital. For me, as the interpreter, it was a rare chance to see how the intensive care unit operates and how digitisation makes it possible to process large amounts of patient- and treatment-related data to improve care.
