In May last year, the European Commission and the European Cluster Observatory launched an open call for expression of interest, targeting regions interested in demonstrating modern cluster strategies and supporting SME internationalisation. Six model demonstrator regions were thus selected, including the West Region in Romania.
On September 10, I had the pleasure of interpreting at a peer review meeting hosted by the West Regional Development Agency, which brought together cluster and regional development agency representatives from Romania and Serbia, a representative of the European Cluster Observatory, as well as cluster experts and policy advisors from Spain, Greece, and Austria. Topics included the key findings and challenges identified by the Observatory, good practices in the field of cluster policies, as well as challenges and expectations in cross-clustering.
