June 25-26, 2015
Timișoara was the first Romanian city to host the International Danube Conference on Culture. It was the 3rd edition of the conference, entitled "The Danube Region - The River as an Experience". Although the river does not flow through Timișoara, the city's rich multicultural history made it a suitable venue for this event. The attendees and speakers included representatives of national, regional, and local authorities, as well as academic and cultural personalities from 14 different countries.
I was invited to be part of the interpreting team by the Timișoara - European Capital of Culture Association (ATCCE), who organized the event together with the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of the State of Baden-Württemberg, the Consultant for Cultural Affairs for South-East Europe at the Donauschwäbisches Zentralmuseum Ulm, and the German Cultural Centre of Timișoara.
