Looking at Julie:
my foray
into the arts

November 10, 2013

The "Eurothalia" Festival organized by the German State Theatre in Timisoara included a Dutch performance: "Looking at Julie", directed by Bram Jansen. The organizers needed someone who could understand Dutch to read out the translation for the audience, using conference interpreting equipment. I was glad to offer my services, which eventually also included revising and adapting the existing Romanian text. Most of the spoken text was in the form of non-diegetic reflections, closely resembling the kind of voice recordings I normally do.

I really enjoyed being part of this event and, judging by the feedback I received after the show, the audience had a pleasant listening experience as well.
